Join our compact, immersive journalism course in Easter 2025. Over a 20 day stretch you’ll create a digital and print publication, as well as short-form video and audio content. Research a topic in Berlin, work with our teachers, and tell your story.
This is a special program for those who’re looking to learn a lot within a short time, deep-diving into professional journalism through daily classes and mentored practice. In 20 days you’ll go through all the skills with a packed daily schedule, combining teaching / workshops with seasoned professionals and hands-on reporting. By the end of the course you’ll realise your journalistic endeavours in multimedia form: online, print, video and audio.

William Barber Program manager
Will has been running the Treetop journalism programme in Berlin for the last five years. He’s your go to for all things organisational and also involved in the print / online publications.
Nadja Vancauwenberghe Program manager / lead teacher
Nadja’s going to work with you from start to finish, guiding the research and development of your journalistic stories, mentoring you through all the steps – pitching, interviewing, editing, publishing.
Maiia will be working with you to realise your journalism story in a collective print edition with your fellow programme members. You’ll gain real insight into collaborating with a pro designer.
Zhou brings years of multidisciplinary journalism experience to the table – her focus on this course will be to help you create short form ‘spotlight’ videos about your chosen topic.
Benjamin Lorch podcaster and mentor
The journalism course culminates in an audio narrative / review of your Berlin based story, and Benjamin is here to introduce you to podcasting, the software used, and to capture your tape.
